In order to showcase Canadian tech companies that participated in the World Congress on Information Technology 2012, Merchlar built an app with several unique features, including a directory containing company links, a description of each business, a corporate video, and contact information. An additional AR platform allowed attendees to interact with provincial maps which revealed all participating companies from each province. Tapping on the company logos would then reveal more detailed company information. A favoriting system was also integrated to allow users to bookmark companies of interest.
In order to trigger the interactive map experience, 4 maps of Canada were placed at the bends of the Digital River. Each map triggers the AR experience within a different seasonal theme, with each containing its own custom seasonal animations. Merchlar’s ingenuity provided a fun and interactive way for participants to discover regional partners and develop lasting connections country-wide.
