About the Contest
We were approached by Spafax to program and launch an interactive Google map application for Air Canada's National Treasures campaign. The project had an extremely tight deadline and had to be delivered within 2 weeks. Merchlar's web team worked tirelessly day and night in order to ensure a successful project launch while suggesting improvements to the user interface and the contest's overall mechanics. Since this campaign targets Air Canada's large and diversified user base, we had to abide by universal design principles and develop a system that was backward compatible with multiple versions of major browsers. The contest was very successful, receiving over 1000 submissions within the first hour of being launched. The campaign won two bronze medals at Pearl Awards 2013 in the Digital Categories: Best Interactive Content and Best Overall Web Design.
